A Monochromatic Holiday Party:
La Banda Chuska + Tipa Tipo
SOLD OUT — Tix not available at the door

LATIN INDIE: cumbia surf & yacht rock in Español

It’s the end of the year. We’re throwing a party. The dress code is monochromatic. 🔴 🟠 🟡

Two of Brooklyn’s finest underground indie latin projects are swinging through town and we’ve reserved the Creation Station for what is effectively our first ever holiday party. Of course there’s cumbia.

La Banda Chuska merges the sounds of vintage Peruvian cumbia and psychedelic chicha with 1960s Latin American and Middle Eastern surf rock — the B-52s gone tropical. Eminently danceable, post-punk, weird, and playful. “Chuska” is the Peruvian slang word for “mutt,” which felt like an appropriate name for a band that mixes together musical seeds from many continents to grow their boundary-pushing sonic garden.

Tipa Tipo plays fuses the spirit of ‘70s soft rock and disco with latin rhythms to create their fresh take on tropical yacht rock, in español. The band was originally formed in Peru and lives in Brooklyn now.

A surreal mashup of the B-52s, Los Crema Paraiso and maybe the Police. We need more from this imaginative, original crew.

The Creation Station is a secret spot in Easthampton that you might have heard of already — or not. It’s going to be the closest thing to a house party we’ve ever done. BYOB and note the monochromatic dress code!

Capacity is quite limited for this one, so we encourage you to reserve well ahead. Tickets are $25 in advance or one Secret Planet token + $5 reservation for members.

Address and further details will be shared with ticket-holders.
