FRIDAY APRIL 4, 2025
RED BARAAT + Los pirañas
RED BARAAT is a highly energetic rhythm experience featuring hard-driving North Indian banghra as well as elements of funk, jazz, hip-hop, march band, protest music and punk energy— it’s a global dance party of the highest order. It’s an inspiring cacophany of sounds, cultures, and ideas. Their sets are cathartic, bouncy sweat-fests, as well as inspiring reminders that music can be a daily act of resistance and calling truth to power.
LOS PIRAÑAS, a late surprise addition to the bill, is a Bogota power trio made up of guitarist Eblis Alvarez (Meridian Brothers), drummer Pedro Ojeda (Romperayo) and bassist Mario Galeano (Frente Cumbiero, Ondatropica).
